The Cannes International Film Festival (French: Le Festival International du Film de Cannes or simply Festival de Cannes), is an annual film festival held in Cannes, France.  Founded in 1946, it is arguably the world’s most prestigious and publicized film festival.  This, the 65th edition, will take place from May 16 to May 27, 2012. The President of the Jury this time around is Italian film director Nanni Moretti.

As an FYI:  The Marche du Film (“Film Market”) is the business portion of the Festival de Cannes, and one of the largest film markets in the world.  Established in 1959, it is held annually in conjunction with the festival.  More than 11,000 participants and around 4,000 films will be shopped around this year.
